Model 0808

Megarecorder

Our Mini and Micro recorders are designed for use with any ip camera and are about the size of a cigar box.  They are so small, that some customers use them like a Micro Netbook.

Products:

Model 0808 A total of eight cameras will operate with this Hybrid CCTV megapixel / ip / USB/ composite videorecorder. This Megarecorder includes 8 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI/VGA monitor video output, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2 Gb DDR2 SODIMM, 500Gb HDD, built-in 802.11 B/G wireless, 1 Gigalan network port (RJ45), microphone input, audio output, TV output (composite + S-Video+  Y/Pb/Pr), 8 audio inputs, 500 watt 110VAC power supply, Slim CD Rewritable-DVD slide-in drive. Also includes 8 input/output alarm nodes.  We recommend adding one or more (chained) external USB HDD drives for additional storage at low cost.  With an included router any combination of cameras up to eight megapixel cameras are supported. POS support is available, Emaps are included. Includes PCI capture card for composite cameras.

Model 0816 Sixteen channel Hybrid CCTV megapixel / ip composite video recorder.  Includes choice of PCI capture card for composite type cctv cameras AND ability to handle megapixel network cameras OR Megapixel network recording software.

Note 1: Each network channel is rated at 1,000 Mb (Gigalan) so that you can expand the number of ip megapixel cameras that you are using without crashing the router or switch.  We don't use the 10/100mb ports found in most megapixel ip video routers and recorders. A megapixel video camera can easily produce data at 65mb/sec.  What happens when you use two cameras?  You can easily exceed the bandwidth of the network and the switch which will cause crashes and other problems.  The most frequent solutions are to increase compression (lower image quality), use "downsampling" (reduces resolution), or decrease frame rate.  The only way to keep high quality images is to increase network bandwidth and decrease frame rate.  If the application is for security, then adjust the frame rate from 30 fps to the best for the network.  When using JPEG compression, each single image provides excellent data.  The MPEG4 codec and other techniques including discrete waveform are more lossy and have lower resolution.  The main reason for switching to Megapixel cameras is higher quality. Why would you want to decrease image resolution in a Megapixel network camera?  The only reason is to reduce the bandwidth requirements of an existing low speed network and save storage space on a network recorder.  The latter reason is acceptable because in most cctv applications you really don't need a 30fps frame rate for megapixel images.  Our Megarecorder model 0808 will handle a frame rate of 480 fps for composite cameras at D-1 resolution.  We suggest using Arecont Megapixel cameras with the new h.264 codec for less bandwidth and data storage requirements.  A total of sixteen  cameras in any combination are supported.  Audio inputs are also included.  POS support available. Emaps included.

Note:  For Megapixel or Ip cameras, an additional Gigabyte router is required that has port forwarding and VPN support.

Each Megarecorder is designed for supported composite, USB, ip - network cameras, and Megapixel cameras, call for latest camera list.

Additional configurations

CM-1 Cellular telephone router for wireless remote CCTV monitoring. Available for AT&T or Sprint/Nextel cellular networks.

ANT Omni Antenna 6dbd mobile/fixed for CM-1 above

A monitor of at least 1680x1050 pixels and 32 bit color resolution is preferred and is not included.

All Video recording software is included. This licenses up to 8 cameras of any type on the model 0808, and up to 16 cameras of any type on model 0816.  THERE IS NO separate license required for changing or adding cameras up to the limit of 8 or 16 channels.  There is no fee or license required for each MAC address on ip cameras.  There is NO ANNUAL fee for camera licenses.  Pay only one license fee per system.  The system is yours including all software and hardware, no MAC fees or license nags for upgrades.  You don't need "permission' to add or change ip cameras.

This software has many features including standalone operation, client and server as well as motion detection, Pan Tilt Zoom controls on selected cameras, three levels of video motion detection per camera, and video alarm notification via SMTP, SMS, and MMS servers. The "client" only requires Windows based Internet Explorer 6 or higher to have most of the functions of the Server software. This software includes I/O relay.
